CHAPTER 17: HIROKU 2

“What that fuck do you mean gone?” My heart starts pounding. For the first time since our arrival in this new world, I feel true panic for the girls and myself.

“My pages do not tell me the specifics. All I know is that the ripples that The Voice accessed to bring you and the paramours here opened cosmic fissures.”

“Cosmic fissures? What are those?”

“I do not know. My pages only inform me that they did harm to your Earth.”

“Son of a bitch. The Voice yanks us away from our planet for some unknown reason and in doing so harms Earth. Harmed it how? Is everyone dead? Is the planet a wasteland? How’s my mom? Are we ravaged with something worse than the Corona virus? Gone how?”

“I do not know. All my pages tell me is that your Earth is not the same as it was. You are safer and better off here. Don’t you see that he saved you and the paramours?”

“Saved us!” I shout. “He destroyed the planet by teleporting us here.”

“You are his chosen. If you were taken, it is part of his grand design.”

“I need to speak with The Voice right now,” I demand.

“Impossible. You are not yet worthy to converse with him. Perhaps soon, once you prove yourself. And you have not proven yourself — in fact you do harm and anger him — each time you question his plans and actions.”

“If I choose to not grow stronger, then what? He can’t make me accept a quest if I choose not to. He can’t make me do anything.”

“You sound like an impudent child. The Voice has his ways. You and the paramours will grow powerful because that is what is needed. Plus, I have gotten to know you quite well, Lord Brandon. You will not allow harm to come to your paramours when you can protect them. You were assigned the Defender class because being a protector is what is in your heart. No, I am certain you will grow stronger.”

I have more questions for Penny but shouting from outside the Harem Hall stops me from doing so. I sit on the bed and quickly pull on my boots. I grab my new sword — Spirit — and rush outside.

I run the short distance to Fiona's Fountain where several of the girls — all in different arrays of dress — are arguing. Hiroku, I notice, is dressed in her full Witch Woman outfit; a stuffed rucksack sits by her feet. Crystal and Inola stand alongside her. Inola has many of the traits of Native Americans. Her face and body are an attractive earthy brown. Deep brown hair frames her beautiful face with her high cheekbones and almond shaped eyes. Inola is dressed in a similar manner to how Maeve was yesterday. I call up (Details, Tier One) and notice that her class now reads Tracker. While Maeve’s Huntress outfit is tight green leather, Inola’s looks to be of some type of boiled brown leather. Inola holds a compound bow.
